Sergei Shestakov is the Founder and CEO of MPP Insights, where he leads the design of large-scale, high-availability data and analytics systems for enterprises operating in zero-downtime environments.
He holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence earned in 2001, with early academic work focused on planning-based AI agents long before agentic systems entered the mainstream. Over the past 20+ years, Sergei has built and operated mission-critical infrastructure across banking, telecommunications, healthcare, logistics, and public sector systems, where reliability, compliance, and uptime were non-negotiable.
His work has consistently focused on embedding intelligence directly into data platforms to remove application-layer bottlenecks, increase fault tolerance, and scale analytics under real-world load. He has authored multiple research papers, including ACM-recognized work on database-centric computing, and has presented internationally on high-performance data architectures.
Sergei has been quoted by Interesting Engineering, Digital Trends, and the International Business Times for his expertise in AI infrastructure, system reliability, and enterprise analytics.
At MPP Insights, he sets the company’s technical direction, product architecture, and R&D strategy across ETL, BI, OCR, NLP, and AI-enabled analytics platforms. His current focus is advancing massively parallel processing architectures that move beyond traditional compute constraints while maintaining strict standards for governance, security, and operational resilience.
Sergei is known for a systems-first leadership style grounded in operational rigor, long-term thinking, and building platforms designed to endure in production, not just perform in theory.
